Do Nothing Machine, 2007

Live performance with sculpture
4’ x 3’ x 4’ (sculpture)
Performance duration:  1hr
Location: The Bronx River Art Center, as a part of the Mind over Manner exhibition opening night, curated by Jose Ruiz

Description: A Pop-sized version of a folk toy, the artist operates The Do Nothing Machine throughout the duration of a gallery’s opening reception with no visible productive results, testing the audience’s patience and limits of amusement; a simultaneous denial of performance art’s entertainment value while a direct quotation to mainstream society’s view on contemporary art, “It doesn’t do anything.”
